We are delighted to announce that Garden Party will return as an in-person event on Thursday, August 12. Please join us for a belated celebration of Garden’s 60th anniversary. The evening will include traditional Japanese food and drink enjoyed in the lush and tranquil setting of the garden.

This intimate evening in the garden will feature the world premiere of Paul Chihara’s “The Garden of Enchantment,” an original chamber work for violin, percussion, and cello performed by members of the Seattle Symphony.

An award-winning composer and native Seattleite, Chihara created the piece to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Japanese Garden. Chihara’s esteemed concert works have been performed by the world’s most distinguished orchestras including the Boston Symphony Orchestra, the London Symphony Orchestra, the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the New Japan Philharmonic, the New Juilliard Ensemble, and the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra.

This enchanting evening of music and celebration is not to be missed!.
